About the Event
Join as for a talk by writer Dilpreet Bhullar that delves into the constellation of images as a means to facilitate both the articulation and dissemination of alternate histories, particularly in digital and AI-driven contexts. Building on the idea that words have consequences, the art of image-writing emerges as a tool for both historical inquiry and social resistance. Through interdisciplinary approaches that incorporate visual studies, critical historiography and media theory, the talk sheds light on how alternate histories impact both historical scholarship and public understanding. In doing so, it aims to instill a desire to anchor a new way of engaging with truth as it speaks to the power of representation.
As an editor and writer, Dilpreet Bhullar's work lies at the intersection of photography, decolonisation and curation. With an MPhil from the University of Delhi in Comparative Literature, she has been the recipient of the Alliance for Historical Dialogue…
