About the Event This workshop is for early-career photographers and researchers interested in learning how a photo project is developed from idea to implementation. Farheen and Aashna have together produced a photo-book and photo exhibition as part of their ongoing project, Mai Ni Meriye, which explores themes of identity, labour, and womanhood in the Himachal region. The workshop will begin with an introduction to their project and the literature and artworks that inform their creative process.
Aashna will speak about how the project was conceptualised through theoretical frameworks related to gender and public scholarship, as well as the process of developing a body of work from an idea, including fundraising, community outreach, and other aspects of project development.
Farheen will share professional and artistic insights into making connections, developing a visual language, and her approach to documentation and design, from photo-book to gallery exhibition.
