Harkat: Artist Talk and Film Showcase

Join us for an artist talk and 16mm film showcase by Karan Talwar, founder of Harkat Studios. Harkat is an artist-run photo-chemical lab in Mumbai. Primarily working with motion picture 16mm film, the lab is a space for discovery, experimentation and for deeply working with artists' moving images.

In this talk plus showcase, Karan will share with the audience the context of being an artists moving image lab in India, the work Harkat has done over the years in expanded cinema, found footage and handmade filmmaking - along with a gentle sprinkling of moving image histories and how we currently situate ourselves within. 

This one hour talk and showcase is structured like a show and tell. We invite everyone interested in artists moving image, photo-chemistry, image making devices and the generally curious to come share space with us.
