Intro to Artist Books by Radha Pandey (Mumbai)

Join us for a weekend of making books with designer Radha Pandey at JOJO Library and Bookshop, Mumbai

In this 2-day workshop, participants will learn how to generate simple texts and use them in simple folded and sewn structures. They will learn how to create a short narrative, cut and fold paper, sew simple structures and use these for their artist books. On the first day we will work on text generation exercises as well as some simple folded forms. On the second day, we will combine these to explore text-based books where the structure affects and changes the reading of the book.

The workshop fee includes lunch for both days and materials that will be provided.

Radha Pandey is a papermaker and letterpress printer. She earned her MFA in Book Arts from the University of Iowa Center for the Book where she was a recipient of the Iowa Arts Fellowship.…
