Intimate Photography in Times of Exposure by Rohit Goel

What does it mean to take good photographs in an already exposed world, in which ‘not a single square inch’ seems to escape the 'gaze of the master'? Rohit Goel will begin to answer this question by developing a theory of ‘intimate photography’, considering Eugène Atget’s ‘optical unconscious’, G.G. de Clérambault’s 40,000 photographs of Moroccan cloth, Abbas Kiarostami’s reluctant cinematography, as well as a selection of photobooks from the JOJO Library.

There are only 12 seats available for the in-person lecture. Please make the payment of INR 1,000 within 24 hours to secure your seat.  Please share the screenshot of the payment to <jojolibraryindia@gmail.com> to receive your confirmation from our team.

Please feel free to come by early if you would like to engage with the photobooks & grab a coffee before the lecture!
