A departure from the framework of political photography, the lecture Representational Reality as a Rhythm of Repetition lays emphasis on the materiality of photography as a step forward to make the medium political itself.


The political force of repeated image is determined by its persistence within collective visual consciousness of recurrence and visibility. Drawing upon the concept of fractality, the lecture espouses photography as a medium to generate reproduction as an alternate extension of a chain of visual echoes that blur distinctions between authentication and imitation. As an editor and writer, Dilpreet Bhullar's work lies at the intersection of photography, decolonisation and curation. With an MPhil from the University of Delhi in Comparative Literature, she has been the recipient of the Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability Fellowship at Columbia University, New York and International Center For Advocates Against Discrimination Fellowship, New York.
