 What will you learn? 

 Understanding Espresso Basics: What is espresso? Exploring the history and origins of espresso. Essential elements of espresso: coffee beans, grind size, water temperature, and pressure. The role of freshness, storage, and proper dosing in achieving a great espresso shot.

Espresso Machine Operation: Introduction to the espresso machine: main components and their functions. Step-by-step guide on operating the machine, including turning it on, preheating, and flushing. Proper preparation of the portafilter, dosing, and tamping techniques.  

Espresso Shot Extraction: The science behind extraction: time, temperature, and brew ratios. Demonstration of shot extraction techniques, including grind adjustments and distribution. Hands-on practice: Participants will have the opportunity to pull their own espresso shots.  

Milk Steaming and Texturing | Introduction to Latte Art: Introduction to milk-steaming: achieving the ideal temperature and texture.Techniques for creating microfoam and achieving velvety milk consistency. Hands-on practice: Participants will learn to steam and texture milk for different espresso-based drinks. Introduction to latte art: patterns, pouring techniques, and tools. Step-by-step demonstration of basic latte art designs, such as hearts and rosettas.Hands-on practice: Participants will have the chance to try their hand at creating latte art.

Flavour Profiling and Tasting: Understanding flavour profiles in espresso: acidity, sweetness, bitterness, and body. Guided tasting session: Participants will sample different espresso shots and discuss flavour notes. Discussion on identifying and appreciating flavour nuances in espresso.
